From the air pics and chilling

Today was pretty mellow. we tried doing areal shots this morning but had an epic fail haha. none of the shots turned out. 

I tried out the cable cam with the go pro, we ran a string from the top of the house all the way to the coral in the lagoon on an existing stake. it worked really good, which was awesome. while i was on the roof i thought i was in an over, it was crazy hot again today. the rain came and left a couple times. so that helped. at night it feels great here though. it was blazing hot here until around 4pm. 88 degrees with intense heat + some humidity is crazy.

This morning we had coconut bread which was a amazing. I wish we had a breakfast truck that drove by my place in cali haha.

I've been trying to get pics of these two really pretty white birds. They always seem to be in hiding when I have my SLR out. I'll try again tomorrow. they fly around the next usually when you come near to the tree they have their babies in. 

After failing the first time with the air shots, we went back again in the afternoon. it was a rough up wind and up swell paddle to the spot. it probably took us 35 mins to get there. once we were there the wind was howling. the shots came out pretty decent! i was paddling in the oc1 right over the corals and stuff. the lighting wasn't too good, but it worked enough. 

After that we paddled back and that part was fun. having a strong wind at your back is great! you can paddle at ease and ride the small wind chop in. 

We made mashed potatoes and ham tonight for dinner. pretty good. I think I am losing weight, and gaining muscle from all of tis paddling I am doing. I've been pretty sore when i wake up in the AM. By now i am pretty much used to it though haha.

I've been realizing that i ask a ton of questions to anyone who will answer them. I think being in a different environment just makes me want to undersand everything, so i'll ask about anything i cant figure out by looking at it. It is probably driving mat nuts haha. 

I cant get over the geckos. they run all over all the walls, and roof, and chill by the lights eating bugs.. haha.

I'm going to bed now, but I gotta say, I'm listening to the combo of rain hitting the grass and the waves crashing onto the reef over a mile away. its amazing.
