Fishing, swimming, paddling

Today we chilled most of the day around the house. I fished early on and caught two fish. I threw one back and the other one was a keeper. It was a type of tuna mat said. I tried to catch some more but I was burning up in the sun. It also isn't the best time to catch fish either, I guess I got lucky.

After fishing we hung out some more on the porch/dining room table. It's so hot that you don't want to do much. The sun is super intense here. My black clothes and shoes are fading from drying in the sun, it's wild.

We decided to go for a swim in the lagoon. This is kind of freaky because there could be huge sharks in there. Mat isn't afraid of them or he thinks there aren't any there. I think the swim was just under 1/2 mile in distance. It was pretty tiring but I made it. Mat smoked me again. Once we got to the white sand reef mat said we should do under water running, so we did. I made it down and around the deep turn around point three times. And on the fourth I went even deeper and left the rock on the bottom. I wonder if ill be able to get it back to the start later. It has to be in 35-40 ft deep of water.

After that we swam back to the house. Mat was talking to the lady who he pays to clean his house and wash his clothes. He pays her more than he needs to but she really needs help to take care of her son who has an expensive eye problem. It's nice of him to do that. He even mentioned that he would pay her more if he had the money. She's really reliable, and hard working, plus she does good work so I would probably do the same if I lived here.

In the evening I tried to fish some more but got nothing, I had to stop early as my sunburn was on fire hah. The sunset was amazing tonight. Photos just can't do it justice. After the sun was down we decided to go to the snack for dinner

We need up paddling to the snack by Sup. it was dark when we started so we brought lights. I quickly realized that my light would have been toast if I fell off my board but thankfully I didn't.

Mat made a video clip of my trip so far. We've watched it so many times, and each time we crack up laughing haha

The moon was half out so you could see a but more than usual. We had a strong head wind on the way there. It's about 2.5 miles by water to get there I think. Anyway, we get there and the snack as well as the food truck that parks there were both closed. We were starving and by this time it was very dark. It's tough to navigate the lagoon because in some spots there are shallow reefs with no markers. We followed the major markers that boats follow in the lagoon. So we head back and in the way mat says so I really don't know how safe this is. I know big sharks come into the lagoon at night. I'm thinking wow, better paddle fast. My eyes start to play tricks on me too. Every wave shadow looks like something else, and the sounds you hear catch you off guard. Mid way back I turned on my head lamp and was looking for flying fish. I saw a bunch and was trying to catch one with my paddle for dinner. I was that tired. We finally make it back without being eaten and start to make some pasta. I had it with butter which sounded weird to me but now it's something i like.

I'm going to crash by 10pm tonight, I'm beat!! My body needs Iike two days to recover I think haha. I can't wait to sleep now. Cya.
