I'll try to make this one quick.
Today mat went off to work at the factory for a couple hours early this morning. I slept in and got up when he got home haha. we went out to teh sandy spot to do some more rock running and to shoot some pics since the sun was out. The runs were pretty hard. harder than the last time that is for sure. I think either my body is tired or I was doing the wrong breathing method to get ready for the run. We ran into a rasta tahiti fisherman. his outrigger canoe looked so old school, and it seemed like he had patched it with fiberglass over and over for the past 40 years haha. his dreads were so long, maybe to his butt. check the pics. The strange thing is that he caught reef fish that no one normally eats. he might be too stoned to notice the difference haha.
After that we came back home, chilled around here and hung out. We picked som mangos from a tree on the property and mat made some kind of salad that this old chinese grandma taught him to make. She was his old landlord. at the house I used to crash with him at. We also made sandwiches from the baguettes that mat picked up this morning. ham, tomatoes (tasted great), butter, and hard boiled egg. not a combination i've ever tried before but it was excellent!
I found a couple awesome trees with amazing flowers on the property today. I need to get some pics of them to print out when i get home for frames at my place.
I surfed the internet a ton today. I dont know why.. it was too hot here to really do anything active and im pretty beat so i was fine with resting.
Tonight we paddled to the sandbar again to check out the sunset. Its a pretty long paddle upwind, but the view is amazing. After seeing that sunset view, and then looking at the surrounding mountains, smeling the flower that you can only smell 15 minutes in the am and pm in the wind, hearing some people practice traitional tahician music near the coast line, on glassy lagoon water that is warmer than the air.. i find it hard to understand why people ever leave this place. I need to find a way to call this home, too bad I am not french! lol. Its also too bad that getting to live here is near impossible for an american.
After that we came back, cleaned up and then made some dinner. we had pasta, ham, and coke. I've been drinking far too much coke here.
Mat burned some lawn waste tonight; its crazy how fast that it burned. this is how people get rid of it on the island.. i swear this part of the island is probably the same as it was in the 1930s. i love it.
sleep. (I stayed up way too late!)
